Collect and stage
Comics come out of storage, bagged and boarded, and go into labelled boxes. We count as we go.
We collect donated comic books, screen every issue for the right age group, and deliver them to clubs, libraries, children’s hospitals, and troops serving overseas.

Kinnelon, New Jersey · Summer 2026
I am Holden Wood, and I started Comics for Comfort in the summer of 2026. I had a large comic collection, people kept offering more, and it seemed wrong to leave all of it in storage when somebody out there could use a good story.
Every issue we receive is bagged, boarded, sorted, and screened for the right age group before it goes anywhere. We hand deliver around town, ship to hospital charities and deployed units, and record every single delivery. We run a session every week through the summer.

CHECK!
Every comic gets a colour: green, yellow, or red. Nothing moves until it has one.
DELIVER!
Boxes go to clubs, libraries, hospitals, and units overseas. We write down every delivery.
Every book lands in one of three boxes. An adult clears the yellow and the red before anything leaves the table.
Goes to clubs, libraries, and hospitals.
An adult checks it before it goes anywhere.
Never goes in a box meant for kids.

If you have comics to donate, or you know a club, library, or ward that could use a delivery, please write to us. Holden reads and answers every message himself.
